The Program Licensing Specialist is responsible for the delivery, deployment and administration of Partner’s strategic licensing and incentive programs across CDW business segments. The incumbent is responsible for recommending, initiating, and coordinating all activities in support of achieving the partner’s sales and profit goals. 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Understand and manage the Red Hat and DevOps Partner Programs 
  • Develop trusted partnership with Solution Architects, sales, and PPM to provide a platform for operational efficiencies and process improvements 
  • Proactively work with Solution Architects and sales to onboard all new customers to the Red Hat program. 
  • Manage customer deployment and provide assistance to customers in navigating around the portal. 
  • Act as central point for collecting feedback and managing our strategy for the development or enhancement of our tools, resources, reporting and process improvements to support the Programs. 
  • Grow Revenue and Gross Profit
  • Seek and implement ways to maximize gross profit opportunities through efficient processes, tools and reporting. 
  • Competitive research and analysis to optimize our offerings and competitive strategy. 
  • Tools and Process Responsibility: 
  • Customer Management Profile and Reporting 
  • Sales Cost Analysis and Proposal Tools 
  • Contract Management Contact Strategy Automation 
  • Pipeline Enhancements and Deal Registration 
  • Other operational responsibilities as needed. 
  • Proactively work with Solution Architects,  Red Hat & DevOps Partners, and sales to renew subscriptions and find opportunities for up sell and cross sell motions. 
  • Manage customer renewals and provide assistance to customers in navigating subscriptions as central point for collecting feedback and managing our strategy for the development or enhancement of our tools, resources, reporting and process improvements 
  • Manage and navigate renewal process for CDW sellers 
  • Work hand in hand with Red Hat teams, DevOps Partners and CDW Presales Team to provide customer support 
  • Responsible for reporting on renewal retention and outstanding and/or lost subscriptions 
  • Knowledge around Red Hat products and processes to help sellers on renewals 

Education and/or Skill-Set Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience in either Small Business, Commercial or CDW-G sales at CDW

  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal by using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience 
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to develop trusted relationships (internal and external) at all levels in an organization with a proven track record of high satisfaction ratings from internal stakeholders 
  • Proven collaboration and teaming skills 
  • Understanding/Appreciation of maintaining confidentiality 
  • Applicant should demonstrate solid attention to detail and a penchant for learning new processes 
  • Ability to learn and stay informed about Red Hat’s programs and processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications 
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast paced environment and adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines 
  • Ability to conduct simple product analysis using various onsite tools and resources and is able to breakdown problems into logistical parts 
  • Proven ability to proactively collaborate and build relationships, take initiative, and creatively problem solve 
  • Applicant must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or long periods of time 
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% or as needed to other CDW locations or client sites 
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information. Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology. 
  • Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize. 
  • Ability to apply common sense in performing job, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, and travel as needed. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Licensing Specialist experience preferred 
  • Expert knowledge of SPS, Pipeline Tool, AS400 processes, software analysis tools, software sales process 
  • Deep knowledge of backbone departments, responsibilities, and processes
