This position is part of CDW's Data Center Solutions practice. The Services Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Data Center Solution Architects and Sales by creating services Pre-Statements of Work, managing and communicating project expectations. The Services Specialist develops and maintains effective working relationships with the sales organization, Solution Architects, Client Engagement Managers, business partners and the service delivery team to efficiently position CDW services to our customers. The Services Specialists will work in collaboration amongst all practice areas in Integrated Technology Solutions to draft advanced, complex, cross practice services Pre-SOWs. This position also requires the Specialist to work across multiple OEM and 3rd party services partners to develop service enablement strategies and processes to effectively position service offerings

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Provide Pre-Sales and post-sales support of Data Center Services related opportunities across to CDW’s Field Solution Architects, Inside Solution Architects and Partner Specialists in all geographies and within all segments of our business. This support will be provided on project-based opportunities and that support will include the scoping of a services opportunity, estimate of services and creation of a Pre-SoW.
  • Draft Pre-SOWs for Data Center Service opportunities
  • Draft Pre-SOW's for cross practice service engagements
  • Make revisions & edits to all Pre-sow created
  • Understand client's infrastructures; compare this infrastructure to the Data Center solutions offerings
  • Make telephone and in-person calls and presentations to clients and potential clients.
  • Create and deliver polished proposals and client deliverables.
  • Review & quality check Pre-SOW scope with client and sales.
  • Coordinate Data Center services quotations with CDW Engineers and/or partner.
  • Provide timely and accurate work estimates for clients.
  • Provide management oral and written reports on the client needs, problems, interests, market situations, competitive activities, and potential for new products/services.
  • Be knowledgeable about products services, applications, technical service, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical services.
  • Conduct training for Field and Inside sales staff on service offerings, process and capabilities
  • Collaborate with CDW delivery team & Technical architects on new Data Center Service Offerings
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to deliver customized SOWs and provide timely and accurate work estimates
  • Understand CDW services methodology and the ability to interpret to internal and external customer.
  • Responsible for maintaining and update Data Center Pre-SOW templates
  • Participate in Internal Kickoff / Customer Kickoff calls
  • Manage DCS Engineer calculator with rates and length of engagement updates
  • Negotiate engineer hours and bill rates with partners on service engagements
  • 75% Sales activities via conference calls, email, and customer visits
  • 20% Training – technology and personal development
  • 5% Team development and miscellaneous tasks
  • Travel as required
  • Develop trusted partnerships with Solution Architects and Sales to provide services support for Data Center Solutions and related opportunities
  • Be responsive to Solution Architects, Sales, and customers
  • Facilitate training for sales teams
  • Quality check all proposals prior to submitting to customers
  • Management of peer review process for converged technology opportunities
  • Provide feedback to management concerning industry trends and opportunities
  • Participate in Pre-Sales activities including conference calls, meetings, and emails
  • Keep up to date on relevant technology solutions through trainings and personal development
  • Participate in team projects and miscellaneous team activities
  • Collaborate with CDW delivery team for accuracy of service opportunities
  • Align with SOW Processing team to further develop SOW submission efficiencies for prompt SOW Executable turnaround time

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of technical sales
  • 2 years minimum of professional services solution experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong passion for learning and teaching others
  • Proven group presentations skill
  • Motivated and self-starting

  • Strong understanding of Data Center Technologies

  • Experience in technology sales
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in similar role or adjacent practice
  • Strong understanding of Data Center Technologies
