Sirius Federal, LLC is looking for a Solutions Architect, Data Center, with a preferred security clearance, to work remotely with travel in the MD, DC, and VA area. We are specifically seeking an experienced, performance-driven engineer who is seeking a dynamic pre-sales opportunity where you will communicate with customers to truly understand, define, and articulate their business needs to create the best solutions. 

As a Data Center Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for technical Pre-Sales Consulting and building relationships with our partners and customers. SE’s need to be creative and drive initiatives with our sales teams to evangelize the practice and our solutions. A successful candidate will possess a well-rounded and robust background and be capable of working well both independently and as part of a team.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Focus on identifying opportunities within the Data Center environment 
  • Build and foster relationships with partners and customers and lead pre-sales initiatives for the practice.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities by supporting Account Managers, the delivery team, and marketing initiatives.
  • Work with our sales teams to raise awareness of practice strategy and offerings to drive revenue.   
  • Lead our Bids and Proposals initiatives as technical SME.
  • Communicate with customers regarding NetApp, Pure, Cisco, NVIDIA, and VMWare technologies among others.
  • Determine the effort and create Statements of Work for services opportunities.
  • Present solutions at customer meetings, trade shows, and blogs and marketing.
  • Provide our customers with 100% success and be a true trusted advisor. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • A current clearance is preferred
  • At least 5 years of solid pre-sales experience focused on Data Center Infrastructure and Modernization solutions, architectures, and design.
  • Should have a strong understanding of automation and orchestration specific to Data Center technologies to include open-source, Cisco, and VMware tools.
  • Experience and current certifications in VMware, NetApp, Pure, Cisco, Dell/EMC and/or other relevant Infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience in other technologies areas such as SAN, Backup Recovery, SDN, Switch, Security technologies and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is a plus.
  • Must be able to explain public, private and hybrid cloud concepts. This is not a cloud developer role though the candidate should be able to design infrastructure to support workloads using cloud concepts.
  • Should have conceptual and architectural understanding of virtualization concepts hypervisors, containers, and network virtualization.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Ability to travel as needed which typically is 25% for Metro DC area residents, higher if living outside the Metro DC Area.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to adapt to various business needs.
  • Experience working with all organization level including, engineering, operations, management, and executives. 
  • Must be abreast of industry trends and new technologies. 
  • Experience developing and fostering key revenue driven relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Take ownership of the overall technical direction and growth customers.  
  • Strategic player who can assist with driving activities, opportunities, and business.
  • US Federal government experience is a plus.
  • Partner experience is a plus.
  • Must have good leadership skills.

The position exists to provide presales technical consulting solutions to customers and as such requires the ability to travel to and from customer sites and interact with customers on an ongoing and regular basis.
