IoT Strategist – Digital Velocityat CDW Careers

The IoT Strategist is responsible for working in collaboration with the regional or segment aligned Field CTOs and Solution Architects to drive technical strategy, and sales GTM for IoT technologies for CDW customers. Successful IoT Strategists will design and develop capabilities that integrate with CDW ITS solutions leveraging the partner(s) technologies and adhering to industry best practices and norms.

Key areas of responsibility

• Collaborate with IoT Practice Strategy Team to define technical GTM and capabilities for IoT Solutions technologies
• Work with CDW ITS groups to develop cross architecture/team solutions leveraging IoT technologies
• Define and document best practices for consulting with assigned technology
• Provide leadership and guidance to regional OCTO FSA team, including technical and sales enablement in conjunction with Marketing teams
• Assist with continued development of IoT lab environments
• Work with IoT Practice Strategy Team to validate 3rd Party vendors
• Evangelism of technology pertaining to IoT Solutions throughout CDW by providing IoT Solution partnership with ITS Practices (Digital Velocity, Hybrid Infrastructure, Security)
• Identify emerging practice opportunities within the partner technology landscape 
• Work with the IoT Practice Strategy Team leadership to prescribe and define certification requirements and specialties 
• Professional services delivery for IoT/CDW customers globally in respect to partner technologies and early adoption 
• Focuses on evangelizing technical standardization and opinionated approaches for client solutions 
• Assists with technical screening for new candidate interviews 
• Provide IoT Transformation workshops and training events for customers and industry leaders on emerging capabilities in IoT technologies 
• Occasionally (20% or less) performing billable work at Strategic CDW clients, or escalations that require Sr. skills for remediation(Consulting Engagements) 
• Presales consulting for IoT technologies 
• Create/Review scopes and statements of work for assigned technologies 
• Meet training and certification requirements for selected vendors 
• Help DV to develop and mature our IoT practice areas in response to client needs and market demand 
• Where possible, become top-level certified in the associated OEM or provider technology, in order to demonstrate expertise and to coach others on the process 
• Travel estimate is 25% - external and internal projects when applicable 
• Research and produce thought leadership collateral.

Education and/or Skill-Set qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience 
• 7+ years of experience in deployment of IoT solutions 
• Knowledge and skill level in identified competencies meet minimum requirements for role 
• Previous direct customer consulting experience or equivalent understanding of role responsibilities

• Demonstrated knowledge of IoT solutions and capabilities 
• Expert level proficiency in IoT  
• Demonstrated knowledge of public cloud platforms, aware of multi-platform solutions and capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to speak to business value of IoT solutions and technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to lead client facing conversations to drive success in consulting engagements 
• Demonstrate solid interpersonal skills, able to mentor and guide internal engineering and personnel technical development teams 
• Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information. 
• Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology. 
• Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize. 
• Ability to apply common sense while engaging with customers and providing solutions. 
• Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and guidelines. 

Preferred qualifications

• IoT Technology expertise necessary to support aligned focus areas
• IoT Platforms
• Additional technology areas and experience: sensor integration, edge compute, data governance/strategy data experience, networking experience, cloud IoT solutions.
• Famaliarity with Functional AI, IoT Constructs, Operational Technologies
• Proficient in at least one public cloud platform
• Demonstrated understanding of Terraform/Ansible or equivalent automation technologies.
