Sirius Federal, LLC is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to work at our client’s site located in Washington, D.C. We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Network Engineer; with a strong background in data center routing and switching.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans network design, layout and develops the baseline configuration for the system. Create detailed and accurate supporting documentation (engineering orders, Bill of Materials, etc.) to complete
    assigned tasks.
  • Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements and provides recommendations
    and guidance. 
  • Briefs government customer and other contractors on recommended solutions and designs.
  • Supports the development of the BOM and government IGCE for acquisition by the
    government as needed. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to users to operation staff. 
  • Perform general network administration duties as needed. 
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Perform cable infrastructure tasks. 
  • 25% travel in support of site surveys, installation, and other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • A current clearance is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • ten years supporting enterprise-grade routers and switches in a large data center environment.

  • at least ten years functioning as a lead network support engineer in a large data center environment.

  • at least ten years of experience designing, planning, testing, implementing, supporting and troubleshooting large data center networks.

  • at least ten years of experience, and demonstrated expertise in supporting the following technologies: BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, STP, VLAN, IP subnetting, packet capture and analysis, core distribution-access networks, spine-leaf networks, WAN, MPLS

  • experience working with NXOS and IOSXE platforms to include configuration of Layer 2 and
    Layer 3 functionality.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Active CCIE certification
  • Active CompTIA Security + Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be capable of engineering and documenting network solutions, not just deploying or configuring. Good verbal and written presentation skills.
