Key areas of responsibility

  • Responsible for providing superior customer support and delivery excellence within the Cloud Design, Management, Automation, and Integration space, supporting cloud computing initiatives deemed critical to the business.
  • Assists in initial strategies, application assessments, workload analysis, vendor research and selections and financial modeling
  • Lead design and support efforts for medium to large scale enterprise cloud infrastructure, databases and application systems, with high availability and continuous availability requirements.
  • Perform roadmap creation, forecasting, and team planning.
  • Contribute to best practices, strategies, methodologies and documentation/templates, working with CI/CD pipelines and technologies.
  • Provide leadership and expert advice on technical subject matters and architecture design to Customers, the Managed Cloud Solutions Team, and other Extended Sirius Teams.
  • Provides technical expertise in analyzing client’s requirements to develop Managed Cloud Services offerings that provide significant value, which also includes recommending solutions and assisting Sales, Engineers, Consultants, and Architects with the development of proposals, quotations, and presentations.
  • Serve as overall coordinator of and technical escalation point for AWS Managed Services Resources.
  • Provides direction and technical guidance for Analysts, Specialists, Engineers, and Consultants; mentor other engineers on Managed Cloud Services project design, analysis, and project coordination of services or products.
  • Utilize a variety of tools in performing job duties including Cloud Technologies (Amazon Web Service and all console and native tools for managing AWS Environments); DevOps and Container Tools (Dockers, Docker Compose, Dockers Swarm, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, Red Hat Open Shift, Jenkins, Run Deck); Configuration Management Tools (Ansible, Puppet); Middleware Red Hat, JBoss, WebLogic, Tomcat Apache); Monitoring Tools (App Dynamics, New Relic, Opsview, Evolven, Dome 9); Scripting Languages (Shell, Python); Ticketing Tools (Service Now, Jira, Parature); and Agile development methodology.

Education and/or Experience qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in deployment of automated private/public cloud solutions
  • Knowledge and skill level in identified competencies needed to meet minimum requirements for role
  • Previous direct customer consulting experience or equivalent understanding of role responsibilities

Required qualifications

  • 4 years designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-based infrastructure and solutions using a variety of operating systems and platforms including Commerce Server & HTTP Server, AWS products and services, Docker, Jenkins, and Ansible.
  • AWS Solutions Architect- Professional or AWS DevOps- Professional Certification required.
  • Highly proficient in Amazon Web Services
  • Experience deploying and managing AWS Organizations, Accounts, Service Control Policies, VPCs, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with Terraform, Ansible or equivalent IaC automation tools and technologies
  • Working knowledge of AWS CloudFormation and how organizations leverage it
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the AWS cloud platform and awareness of multi-platform solutions and capabilities
  • Working knowledge of containers including orchestration with Kubernetes and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
  • General working knowledge of Kubernetes design and implementation
  • Proficiency with CI/CD Pipelines, Git, and SDLC concepts.
  • Working knowledge of GitHub and/or GitLab
  • Experience working as an engineer / team member within an agile environment
  • Demonstrated ability to speak to business value of public cloud solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as role must be able to conduct client facing conversations to drive success in consulting engagements
  • Demonstrate solid interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with delivery engineering teams
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize
  • Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and guidelines
