Our company seeks an individual to lead, manage, and coordinate operations for an online community, the CDW Education Collaborative. The Collaborative is a paid community that offers schools across North America a platform to learn and share the latest updates, technical approaches, challenges and lessons learned in their education technology journey. Reporting directly to the Collaborative Associate Manager, this role supports general community operations as directed by the Manager and requires you to curate and align content while maintaining and improving many of the Collaborative’s systems and processes.


This position requires an individual who has an understanding of community management practices, the education market, and should be familiar with online tools and platforms. The Specialist will take care of event planning and communication, both in person and virtual.  Onboarding and offboarding of our member schools as well as being responsible for troubleshooting and resolving members' questions and issues.

This position requires a well-balanced individual — able to be in the weeds with attention to detail but also can see the wider picture and long-term impact in regards to systems, processes and platforms. This position will be remote.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Engage and interact with the community, representing CDW Education to the membership
  • Coordinate a cadence of contributors to the community’s content streams (livestreams, articles, posts, podcasts) through relationships with internal teams and external partners
  • Create and promote a regular cadence/calendar of virtual events (i.e. webinar or livestream)
  • Support continuous improvement of the community by assessing community engagement and participation metrics and other relevant data points

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure interoperability with other integrated systems, partnering with internal teams as needed
  • Coordinate the enrollment process by monitoring enrollment automations and registration
  • Virtual and in person event communication and planning
  • Field and troubleshoot issues from members
  • Management and improvement of processes, tools, resources and integrations
  • Manage all livestream operations - pre, during, and post event communications
  • Onboarding and offboarding of members - manage membership and integrations as needed

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with increasing responsibility
  • Established relationships and experience in education and/or community management ecosystems

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with platform-based community management systems
  • Experience in district-level educational leadership including leading or supporting system-wide initiatives
  • Minimum 5 years experience in education with increasing levels of responsibility 
  • Expertise with common productivity and communication software (Microsoft and Google ecosystems)
  • High levels of organization
  • Effective communicator both written and verbally
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (written, verbal, social)
  • An innate ability to easily pick up and learn new platforms (end users and back end)
  • Must have a personal workspace that allows for video-conferencing. CDW Education exclusively uses video conferencing for all meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience working with platform-based community management systems
  • 3+ years experience in community management roles
  • Ability, proficiency, and experience presenting to large groups in a virtual and in-person capacity
  • Relevant education certifications, such as Google Educator and Microsoft Innovative Educator
  • Experience with the Invision Platform
