The Team Lead MHE Operator oversees the day-to-day process of the team’s responsibilities and provides a high level of administrative support throughout Operations. This role is responsible for assisting management with planning and training the coworkers on all tasks to help the team maintain performance and quality standards. The team leader will also be responsible for delegating tasks and setting deadlines to help meet operational goals.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Monitor workflow process to ensure Inbound/Outbound orders and assigned tasks are completed correctly. Make staffing decision based on work and allocate resources appropriately.
  • Train new hires on the preferred method to maintain high levels of quality.
  • Coach on the preferred method and discuss opportunities with management.
  • Delegate work consistently amongst coworkers to achieve all required deadlines.
  • Uphold all safety practices and work with the management and safety team on opportunities. Assist with daily stretches and team huddles.
  • Demonstrate and coach on our quality standards. Follow all preferred methods to help achieve our quality metrics and sustain our customer experience.
  • Continuously develop and grow yourself through Leadership Development.
  • Evaluate current processes for improvement and work on recommendations with management.
  • Use problem solving skills to research orders and items to meet our customer’s expectations and minimize downtime.
  • Subject matter expert for all team members regarding the department process.
  • Perform the operator’s daily checklist before using the equipment.
  • Maintain the Distribution Center safety policy for all equipment.
  • Identify and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns immediately.
  • Report safety incidents and near misses when it occurred.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds distribution productivity, quality, and timeliness expectations for the position.
  • Transport skids of products from one area to their designated space.
  • Pick products from proper bin locations for customer orders and vendor returns.
  • Loading and unloading products, recyclable materials, empty pallets, and other materials using equipment and pallet jacks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift certification
  • One-year previous warehouse experience

Required Qualifications

  • Perform 8 or more hours of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying products up to 50 lbs. in combination at any given time
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate counting ability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Solid verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment which includes changes in temperature as the weather fluctuates, noise from conveyors and forklifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office applications
