The Education Advisor serves an important role in the growth of the Education business.  Business development activities include managing inbound customer engagement, CDW Education brand awareness, partner strategy & relationships, and closing marketing leads for a large volume of Education customers.  The Education Advisor serves on a small, agile, account-agnostic team focused on engaging a unique subset of our customer base.  A core expectation of this role is to position CDW Education as THE technology solutions provider serving thousands of schools throughout the United States. This individual is responsible for delivering an unmatched customer experience to enhance loyalty, and grow sales, to meet and exceed team based, revenue and profit goals.  Ability to produce meaningful contributions in a team environment is critical to the success of the role and the customer experience.  


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Convert inbound leads to win business FAST 
  • Answer customer questions on process and product FAST 
  • Deliver and close lead opportunities identified from focused marketing campaigns in the significantly underpenetrated, non-public, and low student enrollment public education market.
  • Proactively manage personal quote pipeline to ensure CDW gains every possible sales opportunity.
  • Presents progress on opportunities and results of efforts to Sales Leaders monthly.
  • Develops relationships with strategic partners and uses those relationships to strengthen CDW Education’s brand in the significantly underpenetrated, non-public, and low student enrollment public education market.
  • Captures key customer attributes and updates salesforce accordingly.
  • Works closely with various stakeholders throughout the company including sales contact center, inside sales teams, sales management, program management, finance, digital and operations.
  • Quickly adapt to organizational changes and improvements in our technology stack to better serve our customer’s at scale.
  • Continuously develop and enhance sales skills, system skills, technical skills and customer engagement skills through on-going training. Training Options are available to enhance sales and technical skills provided by outside vendors, sales workshops, and e-learning opportunities

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 year sales experience

  • Demonstrated collaboration behavior with excellent facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to find solutions while working independently

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/projects, meet deadlines, facilitate change and delegate responsibility
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.  Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.  Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize.  Ability to apply common sense in performing job.  Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ Year’s experience in business development.
  • Wide network of IT manufacturer contacts
  • Experience working in Salesforce as a preferred CRM application
  • Easily adapt to changes in technology and impact to work environment
