As part of CDW’s Integrated Technology Solutions (ITS) organization, the Security PMO Manager is charged with shaping and developing our services vision and strategy around a service area and technology portfolio. To realize these targets, the Security PMO Manager must balance a strong financial and operational results focus with an equally strong coworker development and client emphasis. The Security PMO Manager applies the necessary professional breadth and depth to drive successful CDW offerings and raises the overall capabilities of PMO Leads, Program, and Project Managers. The Security PMO Manager is accountable for effective and efficient day-to-day Services operations, and for driving alignment with the Sales team and Solutions team.

The Security PMO Manager is a business, sales, and solutions thought leader at CDW. The Security PMO Manager is responsible for leadership in driving towards finance, operations, growth, scale, coworker performance management, and internal / external client quarterly and yearly targets. They provide leadership and support for sales, PMO Leads, and services teams within their region/service area and teams, with focus on the following directives:

  • Partner with Security Practice Leaders to create and maintain a strategic vision for the Security practice area to align and benefit the broader CDW PMO.
  • Provide thought leadership in building and improving Security service offerings around CDW’s project management portfolio, supporting the cultivation all Security practice areas, and its contribution to the overall success of the PMO.
  • Master tools and methodologies for solution delivery excellence.
  • Mentor PMO Leads on tools, methodologies, and consultative skills to provide value to our Program and Project Managers as well as our customers.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with sales management of the teams they support and seen as a trusted advisor to grow business.
  • Take a lead role in defining, developing, and supporting project delivery; prepares the team to be successful through proactive training, sharing knowledge, and communicating best practices.
  • Work with PMO Leads to focus on consistent project delivery across the PMO regardless of region or practice area.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Focuses on team and self-continuous improvement and is the "Go To" person for project management expertise, both technically and strategically in their respective region or technology domain.
  • Responsible and accountable for team financials, successful project outcomes, gross profit and profitability of projects and programs in a 100+ million-dollar project portfolio.  Full HR and performance management responsibility for a team of direct and in-direct reports.
  • Coaches and mentors team members to improve their technical, consulting, and pre-sales skills.
  • Drives quality control and enables PMO Leads to ensure team members projects meet and exceed standardized quality and consistency requirements.
  • Creates and delivers PMO centric presentations on key and relevant topics.
  • Conducts regular meetings with services leadership on staffing plans and pipeline
  • Manages and looks for ways to increase assigned team utilization attainment.
  • Engages in project escalations and triaging efforts.
  • Laser focus on the client experience and ability to work with sales leadership and other functional leadership to attain best possible outcomes for our clients.

  • Acts as a resource to peers and sales for advice and recommendations on program structure and delivery.
  • Assists with new hires and proactively provides mentorship and guidance to new hires to accelerate productivity.
  • Establish and cultivate solid working relationship with all internal clients –Services Managers, Solutions Teams, Recruiters, Account Executives, Sales Management and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Engages in the interview processes for new hires and performance evaluations for current team members.

  • Drive continuous improvement within the PMO and Professional Services team, reviewing lessons learned and applying to next customer projects.

Operation Responsibilities:  

  • Focus on the attainment of revenue and gross profit growth targets within their region/service area.
  • Manage your team to provide the right level of skill and size of team to meet client demand while balancing team utilization and profitability.
  • Lead and manage designated Services team to finance, operations, client, and coworker targets.
  • Lead and implement Integrated Technology Services vision, goals, and strategies.
  • Manage and monitor general & administrative expenses.
  • Ensure that monthly forecasts are complete, accurate and timely.
  • Collaborate with Senior Security PMO Managers on new hires, development plans, internal projects, Coworker compensation and bonuses.
  • Establish and cultivate a solid working relationship with vendor partners – Vendor Partner Engineer Managers / Vendor Partner Services Managers / Vendor Partner Account Teams.
  • Understand and align with solutions team to ensure overall sales strategy is implemented through Services teams.
  • Participate in the solution development lifecycle via skills readiness planning for advanced technologies, including resource selection, early engagement, and training/mentoring.
  • Contribute to services management team meetings best practices.
  • Review team financials and project performance to ensure profitability of projects.
  • Measurements and Targets: Revenue Gross Profit, Gross Profit/Coworker Billable Utilization, Company Operating Margin, Client Loyalty, Coworker Loyalty, and Coworker Retention

Sales Support

  • Acts as an escalation contact for sales and client escalations regarding project management and client satisfaction in their respective region or technology area.
  • Ability to quickly identify and outline needed implementation steps to mitigate client satisfaction issues, as well as being able to proactively spot and rectify client satisfaction issues before they occur via regular 1:1 meeting with team members and creating relationships with sales leadership.
  • Follows up on implemented solutions and identifies new opportunities that complement the work that was completed. Additionally, coaches team members on the importance and techniques for spotting additional sales opportunities.
  • Looks for opportunities to proactively evangelize the ITS Practice (Integrated Technology Solutions) value proposition to customers, vendors, account managers, and partners and uses it to generate additional revenue opportunities to CDW.
  • Delivers presentations and conducts presales conversations with confidence and credibility to C-level clients, both in small meeting and large group formats.
  • Defines and shares best practices and methodologies with sales teams to promote consistent, successful solution delivery that focuses on the client experience.
  • Defines and shares best practices and tactics for enhancing profitability with both sales and the PMO team members

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Ten-year minimum project and program management experience
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Previous consulting management and/or sales management experience

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing, leading and/or delivering professional services or consulting teams
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in both traditional and Agile project management principles and practices
  • Knowledge and proven success of engaging with and collaborating with pre-sales and sales teams
  • Ability to adapt to the business needs of the practice and team coverage model
  • Strong interpersonal skills including coaching, mentoring, and collaborating
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • Previous experience navigating a matrix organization
  • Relevant Certifications (e.g., CSM, PSM, CSP, SPC, PMP, SAFe, etc.)
  • MBA or advanced degree
