The Senior Manager of Leadership Development is responsible for setting the Leadership Development strategy, programming, and design of our leadership development philosophies.  In this role they are stewards of the leadership model and competencies and will partner to integrate these into our broader talent practices.  They will support the design and implementation of CDW’s leadership development programming and lead a team who designs, supports, and facilitates our leadership training programs.  This role will also set the strategy for how we leverage leadership assessments and integrate this into our talent programs in partnership with the Director of Talent Management Programs.  They will provide creative approaches for the business to promote a learning culture for leaders, including design and delivery of a portfolio of learning programs, vendor management, resource, and budget allocation of leadership programs.  This role will set the strategy and design for how we leverage coaching and build team effectiveness.

Reporting to the Director of Talent Management this position is a key member of our Talent Management team.
 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Responsibilities for this role include the facilitation of leadership cohorts and other programming, overseeing the implementation and execution of our programs, curriculum and program design, and contributions to our continuous improvement over time. This is inclusive of:
  • Ownership of CDW’s Leadership model and competencies
  • Design, Development and Implementation of our Leadership Development Programming
  • Builds annual Leadership Conference in Partnership with Corporate Communications
  • Collaboration with HRBPs and Business Units/Functions to determine current and future leadership needs and requirements and strategies to support and build leadership programming
  • Innovate processes to support ongoing leader development, including self-paced and programmatic learning
  • Leading organizational development solutions as assigned such as assessments, development programs, instructor-led training, virtual training, eLearning and blended solutions, simulations, coaching, job aids, communications and change management support for leadership programs
  • Designing a suite of solutions than meet our Leadership lifecycle and career transitions with a focus on future capability
  • Lead and develop the Leadership Development coworker team through onboarding, training, coaching, feedback, development goals and performance management
  • Adapt readily to changing priorities; offering solutions to challenges or problems as they occur
  • Establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player and leader with exceptional communication, project management and leadership skills

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years in Leadership Development experience in mid to large-size organizations and dedicated experience in a full-time L&D strategic leadership role and 3 years of managerial experience, OR
  •  11 years of experience in Leadership Development experience in mid to large-size organizations and dedicated experience in a full-time L&D strategic leadership role and 3 years of managerial experience


Required Qualifications

  • Experience in designing and leading leadership development programs
  • Strong program and project management skills, and ability to operationalize and scale programs
  • Ability to motivate and influence others with and without direct authority to achieve solutions to meet organization's objectives, and is proactive in providing solutions, resolving issues, and overcoming hurdles
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.  Proven ability to identify problems, examine situations from multiple angles and propose solutions that balance innovation and practicality for desired impact. Strong business acumen with understanding of business functions, drivers of company performance and financials.
  • Leadership and Organizational Development expertise.  Successful track record of designing, developing, and delivering leadership and organizational development solutions across functional, geographic and organizational boundaries to meet business goals.
  • Engaging and experienced facilitator.  Passionate about teaching, coaching and developing leaders and coworkers, helping them to expand knowledge, deepen skills, discover insights, and gain confidence to apply learnings to further elevate their performance and business impact.
  • Ability to connect with and engage multiple types of learners in a credible and impactful way.  Displays emotional intelligence in reading audiences and adjusts delivery approach and style when necessary to maximize impact of learning.
  • Excellent communication skills. Exceptional interviewing, listening, writing, presentation and facilitation skills.  Track record of designing and developing polished and impactful presentations and materials and presenting to audiences and key stakeholders, including senior leadership.  Experience creating organizational communications and campaigns to support successful project implementation.
  • Exceptional program manager.  Driven to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment. Track record of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business.  Calm under pressure and resilient when faced with change in direction or challenges.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills.  Demonstrated ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with all levels of leaders across HR and business functions, including senior leadership.  Anticipates customer needs and highly responsive to requests.  Maintains confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
