Description

Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) is one the largest IT services program for the Navy and U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), supporting approximately 400,000 seats around the world. Under SMIT, the SMIT contractor will provide enterprise services to the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN), Navy-Marine Corps Internet (NMCI), and OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) including transport, datacenter, network operations, service desk, cybersecurity, and managed services. CDW-G will be supporting the SMIT contractor in several of these service areas.

This role will support the SMIT Program under our subcontract with Leidos Corporation. The SMIT Program is a multi-year program expected to run at least September 2028. The National Field Manager (NFM) provides support to the Program Team, is responsible for the Field Services team, as well as fulfills the responsibilities of NFM role. The NFM is accountable for establishing and maintaining team best practices while advocating successful process adoption throughout the organization under the overall guidance of the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager. The NFM is responsible for driving increased efficiency in the day-to-day operations as well as mentor, train and support other team members of their team as required. This role is remote at the discretion of the SMIT Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accelerate the professional and technical development of coworkers through coaching and training ensuring laser focus on achieving high customer satisfaction.
  • Manage your team to provide the right level of skill and size of team to meet customer demand while balancing team utilization and profitability.
  • Conduct face-to-face customer meetings.
  • Establish and cultivate solid working relationships with SMIT leaders
  • Ensure that best practices are incorporated in the delivery of services of all solutions across Practice(s) and geographies.
  • Lead your team to have the right set of technical skills, in the immediate and long-term, which are focused on Advanced Technology Products and Emerging Technologies
  • Ensure your team fully understands their roles, and possesses the right set of professional consulting and sales skills
  • Develop individual technical and professional development plans
  • Provide complete, accurate, ongoing communication with your team
  • Deliver substantive performance feedback and coaching to your team
  • Perform teambuilding and foster an appealing work environment
  • Monitor and resolve coworker satisfaction / loyalty issues
  • Ensure that best practices are incorporated in the delivery of all solutions

Operations Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement SMIT vision, goals and strategies
  • Create and instill a culture of increasing utilization and decreasing costs
  • Manage and monitor General & Administrative expenses
  • Ensure that time approval is performed in a complete, accurate
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of other coworkers

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance or higher as a condition of employment in this role
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology related discipline; OR a combination of work experience, education, and training equivalent to a four-year college degree in a technology related discipline
  • 10 years’ experience as a manager in an enterprise service environment
  • 15+ years related IT work experience
  • Track record of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience leading projects, effectively delegating responsibilities, and managing resources.
  • History of building and maintaining productive cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Ability to document, write and present information to all stakeholder levels.
  • Ability to lead teams and gain consensus
  • Ability to identify and creatively resolve client, project and people issues
  • Strong project and risk management skills
  • Ability to lead and manage to ensure attainment of critical results
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor in a strategic partnership
  • Demonstrated ability to meet business unit sales objectives
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 25% - 50%
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance, Accounting or Business
  • PMI Project Manager Professional (PMP)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
