The Vetting Manager leads the team responsible for the vetting activity for large opportunities including Business Development, Capture, Proposals, Program Management, and Contract Negotiations, as well as leading individuals responsible for responding to customer forms and questionnaires. The role is responsible for managing the alignment between the leaders and teams responsible for these activities. This role ensures the team is acting as a resource coordinator and aligning the right resources to the right team and serves as the primary point of contact for communication to stakeholders. This role is also responsible for aggregating and producing reporting on the activities it touches and will ensure KPI’s are established and holds the team accountable for meeting them. The manager will be responsible for driving change in alignment with CDW’s strategic initiatives. The Vetting Manager reports to the Sr. Manager, Proposals, and interacts frequently with various coworkers within the company, including Strategic Programs leadership, Proposal Writers, Contract Negotiators, Capture Team Managers, Account Managers, Sales Managers, and Sales Directors.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Manages the team of Vetting resources for large RFx opportunities and contracts, and Documentation Administrators responsible for completing customer forms including vendor registrations, InfoSec questionnaires, reps and certs, and other similar questionnaires.
  • Create, revise and implement processes for opportunity lifecycle from pre-award conception to post award contract management.
  • Manage and ensure alignment with respective stakeholder teams and leaders in the opportunity lifecycle.
  • Establish KPIs and SLAs for vetting activity.
  • Drive change in vetting activities and processes that support CDW strategic priorities.
  • Oversee resource allocation, coordination, and management, and drive initiatives to create efficiencies and awareness for resources adjusting for growth and change as CDW evolves.
  • Drive continuous improvement among resources to qualify and document all received requests in CDW’s technology (e.g. SPS, Salesforce) tracking system, including follow ups with the account team and other stakeholders to gather additional relevant information as needed.
  • Partner with other leaders to present and share information.
  • Lead routine vetting activities including Sales management vetting and assignment calls and maintenance of the Proposal Calendar.
  • Manage and ensure the team has a plan and executes data clean-up activities.
  • Contribute to or produce team reporting.
  • Assign tasks to team members without outside direction
  • Escalate to Manager(s) within Strategic Programs appropriately when required
  • Drive Coworker Engagement and Equity in alignment with HR based initiatives and CDW culture

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years experience in proposal writing or legal experience
  • 3 – 5 years experience managing direct reports

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook and Internet Explorer
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact within different levels of the organization and within different departments.
  • Strong Organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to details.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to influence or gain acceptance from stakeholders in sensitive situations
