Role Purpose
As the Solutions Sales Manager for the Hybrid Cloud go to market (GTM) you will lead both direct and a virtual team to drive the direction and execution of our Hybrid Cloud GTM, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and wider targets.
The direct team will include Solution Sales Specialists and Business Development Managers. Accountable for the Hybrid Cloud GTM performance and growth, this role demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, business acumen, and the ability to foster collaboration and innovation. Your success will be measured by your ability to achieve performance targets, contribute to the overall UKI sales number, and support the development and engagement of your team.
The primary objectives of this role are:
1. Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and support your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Ensure team members are equipped with the necessary resources, guidance, and support to achieve their objectives.
Focus the team on the following:
Customer Relevance & Sales Driven
Removing Silos and preparing for Growth
Encourage the team to learn, earn and have fun.
2. Performance Management:
Oversee the performance of the Hybrid Cloud GTM, ensuring all activities contribute to meeting or exceeding targets.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), driving accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
3. Strategic Development and Execution:
Lead a team to formulate and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Hybrid Cloud GTM, ensuring it aligns with the company's vision and goals.
Identify and leverage market trends and opportunities to drive innovation and growth.
4. Financial and Compliance Responsibility:
Manage the financial performance of the Hybrid Cloud GTM, ensuring targets are met and budgets are adhered to.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, maintaining operational excellence.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Foster strong collaboration across various internal business units, supporting initiative, ensuring cohesive and integrated efforts towards achieving the Hybrid Platforms Solution Area objectives.
Work closely with the sales team to align efforts and support the overall sales strategy.
6. Customer Focus and Satisfaction:
Ensure that the Hybrid Cloud GTM meets or exceeds customer expectations by delivering high-quality solutions and services.
Drive initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and build long-term client relationships.
Success Measures
Success will be measured by your ability to achieve performance targets, contribute to the overall UKI sales number, and support the development and engagement of your team.
Roles Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the team, providing guidance and support to achieve team and individual performance goals.
Collaborate as part of a virtual team aligned with the Hybrid Cloud GTM, including OCTO (Office of the Chief Technology Officer), PPM (Project and Portfolio Management), Marketing, Professional Services (PS), and Managed Services (MS).
Create and foster an environment conducive to innovation, high productivity, and high quality, regularly observing the performance of direct reports, ensuring they maintain focus, motivation, adhere to and improve quality standards.
Conduct monthly 121 meetings with the team, monitoring performance, supporting development, and completing the coworker life cycle process in line with Co-worker Services guidance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with business peers (including US and Canadian peers) to maintain an awareness of developments within the wider business and support opportunities for standardisation across geographies where applicable.
2. Performance Management:
Take ownership of the Hybrid Cloud GTM’s performance metrics, ensuring that all activities contribute to the overall sales number.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), driving accountability and continuous improvement.
3. Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the Hybrid Cloud GTM, aligning with the company's overall vision and goals.
Identify market trends and opportunities to drive growth and innovation within the Hybrid Solution Area.
4. Collaboration and Alignment:
Foster strong collaboration across various departments, ensuring cohesive and integrated efforts towards achieving Hybrid Solution Area objectives.
Work closely with the sales team to ensure alignment and support for the overall sales strategy.
5. Financial Responsibility:
Manage the financial performance of the Hybrid Cloud GTM, ensuring targets are met and budgets are adhered to.
Contribute to the overall sales number by driving the performance of the Hybrid Cloud GTM.
6. Performance-Based Compensation:
Compensation for this role will be tied to team and company performance, with specific KPIs driving incentives and rewards.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Proven experience in a leadership role within the technology or IT solutions industry.
Strong understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, both directly and virtually.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Results-driven with a track record of achieving and exceeding performance targets.
Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
Highly ambitious, credible, motivated, and accountable individual with an appreciation for building meaningful and lasting relationships.
Detail-oriented with strong time management skills combined with the capacity to lead and work on multiple initiatives, as well as dynamically prioritise and pivot based on changing business needs
Outstanding communications skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present concepts and recommendations in verbal, written, and presentation formats to customers, senior leaders, and cross-functional audiences
High levels of industry-related knowledge with an insatiable thirst for new information relevant to the market
Prepared for occasional travel between CDW UK & International offices as the role requires whilst maintaining a suitable home life balance
Ability to allocate time to undertake personal development activities such as attending training, achieving certifications, and focusing on soft-skill development – always seeking to personally develop as an individual
