As the Manager of Financial Accounting, you will be part of a collaborative accounting team that works closely with the business to support global accounting activities for CDW. You will be responsible for running monthly close activities, leading coworkers on the team, liaising with non-US subsidiaries, working with external and internal auditors, understanding variances to either prior periods or plan, and performing special projects as needed.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead a team of professionals that includes coaching, mentoring, development, and performance management
  • Act as liaison between Finance and other departments within the organization
  • Build and maintain applicable accounting policies and procedures for areas under control
  • Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place and are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Coordinate monthly financial closes, set deadlines and standards for completion of financial statements
  • Works with external and internal auditors to ensure financial statements adhere to accounting policies and good financial controls
  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations


  • Overall responsibility for ensuring the timeliness and completeness of data within Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) used for external financial reporting purposes
  • Lead the consolidation of CDW results, including equity roll-forwards, FX translation and intercompany eliminations.
  • Oversee of the subsidiary financial results in HFM, acting as the key group liaison for financial reporting, including the onboarding of any newly acquired entities
  • Responsible for the governance of the Blackline system, including reconciling certain balance sheet accounts
  • Coordinate and deliver on special projects as needed


Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5 years of accounting experience.
  • 1 year of management experience


    Other Required Qualifications

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership
    • Demonstrated strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices with ability to apply them in a business analysis situation
    • Excellent technical accounting skills
    • Proficient knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley controls and requirements
    • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with critical attention to detail
    • Ability to balance multiple priorities at a time and adapt to the changing needs of the business, while meeting deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft office applications with strong experience in Excel
    • Structured approach to defining and analyzing problems with the ability to think creatively and implement solutions
    • Track record of identifying operational improvements, and making appropriate recommendations
    • Strong negotiation skills used to influence partners across the business
    • Ability to establish rapport and maintain productive working relationships cross-functionally
    • Ability to lead a team including setting goals, building alignment, making decisions, managing change, creating accountability, and motivating team members
    • Strong knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management, including the consolidation process

    Preferred Qualifications

    • CPA
    • Experience with ERP packages, including PeopleSoft general ledger, and other accounting analytical tools such as Hyperion/Essbase, Cognos, Blackline, etc.
