The Assessment Specialist performs security assessments remotely from a central location using provided tools. The individual in this role handles multiple assessment projects within a fast-paced environment while open to constant challenge and change. The Assessment Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts. This position reports into the Security Practice, and will be partnered with Security Solutions Architects to develop security sales opportunities.
Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Follow Assessment Methodology to ensure proper engagement
  • Works with Security Solutions Architects to develop hardware, software and services quote to accompany the final deliverable
  • Analyze the data and prepares high quality deliverables
  • Presents final deliverables to the customer


  • Work with customers to prepare their network for the assessment appliance
  • Work with customers to properly deploy the assessment appliance to their network
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with customers during the assessment
  • Relay issues and concerns regularly to the Team Lead and Security Solutions Manager
  • Manage issues to resolution. Influential with others, tailoring communication to the needs of the target audience.
  • Perform all tasks associated with each assessment project.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Four year degree or equivalent experience
  • Two years of Computer Help Desk or Call Center experience

Other Required Qualifications

  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Basic networking skills
  • Strong experience with SPAN, TAP, and other methods for passively observing network traffic
  • Basic understanding of directory services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong Windows & Linux operating system skills
  • Present information clearly, concisely and accurately, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to work well with teams and independently
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail
  • Awareness and understanding of financial and business goals and drivers
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in team’s knowledge of and concern for customers' business needs
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with willingness to initiate communication with a large and diverse customer set
  • Strong dedication to detail and organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years work experience in a consulting position
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
