The Senior Analyst, Performance Excellence, will own the reporting of key performance metrics aimed at tracking and communicating program benefit by validating data and testing assumptions. The position will work closely with the Manager of Performance Excellence and various business leaders to help create value at CDW. This role will also assist in creating business cases and support project road maps reviewed by senior leadership.

 

Performance Excellence is a strategic group within CDW focused on driving change to reinvent the way of doing business by creating investment capacity that enables reinvestment back into our business. This group supports various business stakeholders to accelerate growth and deliver on a portfolio of opportunities and projects.

 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform high-level analysis aimed at categorizing the potential benefit/value for multiple project ideas aimed at enhancing CDW’s bottom line
  • Create monthly business review for Executive Committee to highlight and communicate the Performance Excellence initiative’s progress against its goals
  • Assist with business cases by working with various business leaders turning ideation into realization through data and modeling
  • Build successful partnerships with business stakeholders giving recommendations based on analytical results
  • Support the development of a project road map by prioritizing initiatives and capture results based on timeline
  • Work closely with Financial Planning to connect the annual planning process and forecasting with the predicted impact of Performance Excellence objectives
  • Evaluate ways to improve processes to streamline data delivery
  • Gather and validate assumptions through data to ensure benefit can be realized

 

 

  • Financial Modeling and Analysis Specific:
    • Performs monthly tracking and analysis of cross functional initiative’s financial performance to measure expense and savings of all lines on profit and loss statement (P&L). This includes working with initiative owners and executive leadership to assist them in understanding results
    • Utilizes complex financial models to provide insight on performance targets, future net benefits, and return on investment (ROI)
    • Automates and improves consolidated financial results by applying best practices

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • External candidates:
      • 3 years previous finance experience.
    • Internal candidates:
      • 2 years CDW finance experience.

 

Other Required Qualifications

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders
    • Capable of taking granular level detail and communicating information at a high level
    • Demonstrated strong knowledge of finance concepts, principles and practices, and the ability to apply them
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Ability to manage competing priorities demonstrating adaptability in meeting prioritized deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft office applications with strong experience in Excel
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively present data to stakeholders for full scenario understanding
    • Track record of identifying process improvements and making appropriate recommendations
    • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders

 

Preferred Qualifications

    • 4 years of previous financial experience
    • Good knowledge of financial software tools such as PeopleSoft, Essbase, and Hyperion
    • CPA or MBA
    • Data warehouse experience
    • Working knowledge of SQL
