The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the design and development of reporting and other analysis of key business indicators to support Service Solution business intelligence needs. This role will; align Services leaders and other stakeholders in CDW around consistent reporting standards to drive operational readiness and enhance team efficiency; become the central authority for the creation, distribution and presentation of those reports on regular intervals and assist business leaders in a variety of other decision-support and strategic-planning projects.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Work with business leaders to align services reporting practices around a consistent set of financial and operational measurements
  • Build and deploy consolidated reporting around those measurements
  • Routinely prepare, analyze, publish and deliver business performance presentations to business leaders including financial and operational results
  • Lead and report on monthly services forecasting exercises for all services teams
  • Participate in formal and informal business planning activities including yearly goal setting and resource and compensation analysis
  • Work with business leaders and other stakeholders to solve complex issues by analyzing the problem and creating clear and actionable steps to drive resolution
  • Provide insight and analysis to business leaders on strategic initiatives and projects

Other Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify, prioritize and validate project requirements and business objectives
  • Work with IT and other internal teams to educate and mentor them on Services’ reporting process and requirements
  • Oversee projects to automate such reports
  • Assist business partners with quantitative and qualitative analysis to help justify the investment necessary to deliver a solution
  • Develop strong internal relationships with key stakeholders and subject-matter experts across the organization
  • Assist business partners with assessing organizational readiness for change
  • Draw upon technology strategy to provide a structure for evaluating solution options
  • Serve as the thought leader to help define business processes, system usage, behavior and information requirement needs
  • Decompose business problems quickly and determine the root cause and provide solution alternatives
  • Maintain an enterprise view of processes and tools to solve complex issues through creativity and innovation


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5 years experience in identifying and documenting business needs and specifications utilizing business analysis

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across company and department boundaries at all levels
  • Demonstrated work experience in process definition including facilitation, process documentation, change control, and process improvement
  • Ability to effectively facilitate and lead meetings, tailoring messages to the given audience
  • Experience in evaluating information, identifying risks and opportunities, while possessing creative problem solving skills with an understanding of business concepts and models
  • Proven ability to elicit project and system requirements
  • Proficient negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to enable win-win resolutions
  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • Critical attention to detail and solid creative problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the business, organization and solutions that are the back bone of the organization
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions, strategies and organizational direction
  • Ability to question/challenge existing business assumptions and constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to understand how change will benefit the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate information, identify risks and opportunities, while possessing creative problem solving skills with an understanding of business concepts and models
  • Proven track record of successfully supporting the needs of project team members and internal stakeholders (locally and virtually)
  • Strong working knowledge of requirements gathering software support, data mining tools and Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrate influence without authority.
  • Ability to work in a high performing team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 years experience operating in a business analyst capacity, identifying and documenting business needs and specifications utilizing business analysis and system design techniques
  • Masters degree in Business or Advanced Information Technologies
  • Familiarity with cost/benefit and ROI data analysis
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict with appropriate escalation
  • History in teaching or mentoring professionals
