As a member of our ServiceNow Solutions organization, the Pre-Sales Manager leads a team of Solution Consultants who provide support to the ServiceNow sales team and provide prospective customers with product and solution advice during pre-sales discussions. This position for responsible for individual Solution Consultant career planning and development, team development, and hiring according to the dynamic needs of the sales organization, and other administrative duties relative to team management.

 

In addition, the Pre-Sales Manager is expected to maintain strong relationships with counterparts in the Sales, Delivery, Marketing and other organizations to ensure alignment of organizational activities and directions. These responsibilities all directly support the Pre-Sales Manager's primary goal: developing and maintaining a team that consistently secures the technical win in every deal they support for the ServiceNow sales team.

 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Plan the future. Define, implement, and support the implementation of Pre-Sales processes, methods, tools, guidelines and standards that are in line with industry best practices and establish a stable framework that supports the team and ensures ongoing success for our customers
  • Be a trusted advisor. Partner with business leaders to understand their operational issues and opportunities, and create solutions to scale business operations and ensure compliance; be a knowledgeable and reliable escalation point for your team
  • Be proactive. Identify and recommend creative ideas to improve business operations
  • Be a thought-leader and influencer. Stay current on the SaaS marketplace, understanding differentiators between CDW and its competitors, participate in Sales reviews, and provide guidance in industry trends and potential new solutions
  • Drive Results. Push for growth of the business in line with corporate goals
    Mentor and coach. Set performance targets, ensure each team member is enabled to deliver against those targets, provide appropriate guidance, and deliver ongoing and honest feedback through both formal and informal channels
  • Strive for simple. Using the Pareto Principle, look for the least complex method to solve issues and tasks then break down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions for staff to accomplish
  • Ensure all time is recorded accurately and keep calendar up to date with scheduled activities
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 5+ years strong pre-sales experience

Required Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Pre-Sales Accreditations in all product lines
  • Knowledge of ITIL, minimum Foundation level, ideally higher
  • Know how businesses work and how organizations make money
  • Deal constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions or outcomes and make sound decisions even in the absence of complete information
  • Effective in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles or position levels
  • Pick up on situational cues and adjust in the moment
  • Act with a clear sense of ownership and take personal responsibility for decisions, actions, and failures without being defensive
  • Grow from hardships and negative experiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an engaging personality. A proven ability to effectively interface with a diverse range of roles
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to influence, guide and convince; has a history of being a thought-leader who people follow and admire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has led a Pre-Sales team or been in a similar leadership position
