The Manager, Strategic Solutions will build, lead and mentor a world-class technical presales and solutions development team focusing on Enterprise Data Center Solutions, including storage, server, network, and related software solutions and services for innovative positioning of CDW in the market.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead a team of technical experts to position CDW strategically for long-term success in the Data Center Solutions market
  • Lead the creation of profitable solutions based on market demands and technology developments
  • Lead the evaluation of new products and services relevant to the data center, to ensure it’s the right fit for CDW’s portfolio
  • Lead the effort to find new ways to monetize upcoming or existing Data Center Solutions
  • Lead the innovation efforts in the Data Center practice to create unique CDW value to our customers and partners
  • Lead the creation of technical training and enablement plans for the Solution Architects to ensure a consistent high quality customer experience
  • Manage business in order to meet sales and profit goal
  • Develop and improve the sales process around Data Center Solutions to increase value to customers
  • Build relationships with key strategic partners and CDW Sales leadership to align strategy and communication




  • Build, lead and mentor a team of high-performing technical architects and presales specialists.
  • Develop a unique CDW opinion and voice in the market with regards to the Data Center evolutions
  • Develop processes by which CDW can monetize on new developments in Data Canter Solutions
  • Work collaboratively with sales leadership and solution marketing to promote new Data Center offerings
  • Work collaboratively with the Data Center Solutions management team on the execution of technical training and enablement plans
  • Support the Account Management, and Data Center Solution Architect teams in sales of Data Center Solutions.


Solution Development

  • Develop and lead the process by which CDW can be innovative in the market place for Data Center Solutions
  • Gather market data and intelligence while working collaboratively with Partner and Product Management and Services to determine the data center solutions roadmap
  • Develop bundled solutions that leverage our data center, configuration center, services, software and hardware capabilities
  • Incubate new technologies to build into our solutions set
  • Develop and maintain technical and sales readiness plans


Coworker Development

  • Develop the sales abilities and technical expertise of Specialists
  • Coach and mentor the professional development of Specialists
  • As a member of the management team, contribute to the strategy and overall management of the Data Center business
  • Plan appropriate training and professional development for each team member
  • Create and review performance plans with individual team members using measurable criteria and input from relevant sources including peers, clients and vendors


Strategic Relationships

  • Develop and grow relationships, communication and business strategy with key strategic partners
  • Leverage relationships with key partners to develop sales strategies within specific territories
  • Build relationships with territory managers to align strategy, resources and partner relationships


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or four years of industry experience
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience
