The Senior Manager of Transportation is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring CDW’s overall supply chain strategy in order to maximize efficiency and productivity. In addition, they play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and distributors. They will collaborate to build a process-oriented organization by promoting key principles used to identify opportunities and remove barriers. The Senior Manager of Transportation will gain company exposure through leading a mix of strategic and tactical assignments of various complexities, each with an opportunity to achieve measurable results.



Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Operations, Customer Experience, Procurement and Logistics
  • Leverage change management, project management and similar disciplines to align key stakeholders, establish charters and plans, manage initiative execution and achieve desired results
  • Independently lead key quality initiatives of varying size and complexity at frontline, management, and executive levels across the business, operations and technology areas
  • Develop and implement key supply chain KPIs
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement efforts through defining standards, analyzing data and executing project plans
  • Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and champion of the process culture through setting standards
  • Implement and support key distribution initiatives to drive consistency across all operating facilities such as performance management, observational coaching, facility design, innovation, and defining key metrics of the business
  • Represent the company with internal and external customers including vendor partners
  • Map process workflows across the organization and analyze for areas of opportunity
  • Develop and recommend organizational hierarchy for future state of the supply chain team, including principles, governance and methodologies to promote a process-focused culture
  • Train, evaluate and provide constructive feedback to coworkers within the Supply Chain organization
  • Build and maintain good relationships with partners
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine best vendors and distributors for partnerships

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or similar relevant field
  • 7 years Logistics experience and/or internal CDW experience
  • 3 years of leadership experience

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including facilitation and presentations
  • Work independently with minimal oversight or guidance
  • Ability to manage competing priorities showing adaptability and meeting important deadlines
  • History of building and maintaining effective relationships
  • Proficiency in the following areas: business planning, change management, financial modeling, statistical analysis, management consulting, communication planning or similar field
  • Proficiency with supply chain management software (such as WMS, TMS, Order Management and other related software)
  • Proficiency with MS Office software including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proven project management experience.
  • CSCMP or other relevant supply chain management certification(s)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or similar field
  • Experience in operations management, engineering, performance management, change management
  • Experience in project management or process methods (lean, six sigma, quality)
  • Experience with data and reporting tools (SQL, Pyramid, Access, PowerBI)
  • Engineered Standards (Labor Management System) experience
  • Facility Design utilizing AutoCAD
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt
  • PMP or other relevant project management certification(s)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Experience with negotiating contracts
  • Experience with freight and transportation, specifically related to improving speed to customer and cost optimization
