The Configurations Center Engineer is responsible for maintaining the configuration centers server and network infrastructure as well as demonstrate hands-on practical knowledge of advanced configurations. This role is also responsible for the implementation of new technologies and their associated processes within the department. In addition, the engineer will be involved in discussions and presentations with external and internal customers to review and troubleshoot configuration center services.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Upgrade and maintain Configuration Center server and network infrastructure.
  • Manage the Configuration Center Technology labs and Customers co-located server and network devices.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems.
  • Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade converged network solutions.
  • Facilitate information sharing within internal departments
  • Overtime required as dictated by the business.

  • 3+ years experience as a Network Engineer
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot computer systems and peripherals, including; identifying hardware incompatibilities on multiple platforms and coaching others in solving configuration issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Strong customer service and sales skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to demonstrate solid attention to detail and a penchant for accuracy
  • Proven ability to maintain and create technical documentation for the enterprise-level customers.
  • History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills with the demonstrated ability to be resourceful
  • Aptitude for learning new technology and quickly putting them into practical use.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all of the physical responsibilities listed.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse environment which includes changes in temperature as weather fluctuates, noise from conveyors and forklifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • One of the following Comptia Certifications: Server+, Security+, Linux+, CCNA, or ACHDS.
  • Ability to maintain and create technical documentation for the Enterprise Level customers.
  • Knowledge of VMware solutions including vSphere and vCenter is a plus
  • Knowledge of automation and programmability using common scripting languages such as VBscript, Powershell is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Networking (fiber channel switches) is a plus
  • Knowledge of security issues and implications to network solutions is a plus
