Role Overview
The Stocking Supervisor oversees stocking of all inbound merchandise and re-stock from other departments. This position also interacts closely with the Receiving and Shipping Departments. In addition, manage a team of coworkers in executing department and facility goals. This position collaborates with peers and management to initiate solutions that align with business goals.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Effectively oversees the stocking procedures of all inbound merchandise and all re-stock from other departments
- Manage the daily workload to ensure all merchandise is accurately placed in the bin locations as well as efficiently and effectively rotating and consolidating products
- Manage a team of coworkers to ensure they are productive and motivated through ongoing communication, coaching, mentoring and performance management
- Resolve coworker issues or escalate to upper management as appropriate
- Collaborate with team leaders to ensure all work is being completed effectively and efficiently and distributed to coworkers appropriately
- Promote, adhere and enforce CDW safety standards as well as policies and procedures in the Road to Success coworker handbook
- Collaborate with other departments within the distribution center to improve operational efficiencies
Responsibilities
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
- Housekeeping-ensure area is kept clean and garbage is placed in the proper containers
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years experience in a warehouse/distribution environment
Other Required Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
- History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills with critical attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
- Successful history of working in a warehouse environment, including changing temperatures and high levels of noise
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with the functionality of AS/400
- Forklift certification
