The Supervisor - Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing accurate and timely transaction processing (inventory, expense or Travel & Expense), reconciliations and discrepancy resolution. This role is also responsible for assisting with the development and execution of the Accounts Payable roadmap. The execution of the roadmap will include projects to automate and/or improve Accounts Payable related activities, creating educational opportunities for Accounts Payable partners and stakeholders and building internal relationships to improve customer service. Additionally, the Supervisor of Accounts Payable is responsible for a team of analysts, for monitoring their daily/monthly operational goals, and mentoring and coaching.



Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Identify, prioritize and implement process improvements and initiatives that support the Accounts Payable strategic roadmap.
  • Establish positive working relationships with internal CDW departments and/or external vendor partners. Collaborate cross-functionally to implement process improvements and resolve issues.
  • Responsible for the planning, organization and control of process flows, payment of obligations and adherence to Accounts Payable policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of payments and maximization of cash flow.
  • Serve as the team’s subject matter expert by assisting the team with questions and issue resolution. Take the lead on escalations to Senior Management.
  • Gather data and report on departmental operational metrics.
  • Supervise a team and provide performance management, training, and coaching and development for various levels of coworkers.
  • Lead system testing.
  • Oversee the team’s process documentation library, including the creation of new procedures/policies and ongoing maintenance.
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets and databases, to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and reports.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or other relevant area of finance

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and resolve complex issues based on a solid understanding of business processes and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills with critical attention to detail
  • Proven time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach others
  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • History of providing excellent customer service
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office application skills
  • Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

  • Management/Supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of AS400, PeopleSoft and/or EDI transaction processing
  • Advanced Microsoft Office application skills
