CDW•G Manager, Classroom Transformation



The purpose of the Manager, Business Development (aka Manager, Classroom Transformation) role is to be a business partner with the CDW Sales, Strategic Sales and Services management teams to develop and execute plans that will result in positive revenue and profit growth. This role is responsible for creating and evangelizing key education initiatives for audiovisual, learning space design and esports solutions to CDW•G Education sales leaders, teams and the customer base that is mutually supported. Working with the leading OEMs in the industry, the role will serve as a critical brand agnostic voice for customers as they make purchase decisions to transform their learning spaces by leveraging each organizations expertise, technologies, or other intellectual property to expand our products, services, and/or market reach.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Leading the engagement with key partner contacts in sales, marketing, program management, business development, and executive levels
  • Provide oversight, recommendations, and solutions for customer proposals and RFP’s 
  • Provide training and subject matter expertise to stakeholders within CDWG, and customers via online and in person meetings
  • Maintain knowledge base of current manufacturers and solutions proposed, provided, and serviced by CDWG

    • Esports technology
  • Research, understand and create training, deliverables and sales programs to align with emerging AV technology
  • Establish, grow and maintain partnerships with education institutions and other alliances to support CDWG goals
  • Create feedback systems to gather input from school leaders and other educators, ensuring that this information is being used to drive solution updates and improvements
  • Build strong relationships with partner, field and inside sales teams
  • Ability to establish and expand relationships with key executives and decision makers
  • Demonstrate ability to close sales and overcome customer objections
  • Ability to position CDWG solutions as a strategic advantage to our customers’ long term needs
  • Develop and maintain exceptional consultative relationships with existing customers
  • Create and maintain a system to track progress and status of top vendor partner initiatives
  • Educating partner sales teams on the CDW•G value proposition
  • Communication of partner activities to the CDW•G sales teams
  • Development of dashboards to track successes, pipeline, timelines, etc.
  • Increase mutual customer and partner awareness to CDW•G capabilities by executing on joint-marketing programs, presenting to customers and at in market events, etc.

  • Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders
  • Participate in annual Performance Review and Talent Review processes
  • Travel as needed (up to 50%)
  • Maintain expense expectations
  • Other special projects upon request
  • Success Metrics:
  • Profit and revenue growth for Classroom Transformation categories within Education
  • Key successes pertaining to partner relationships, CDW-G and partner initiatives, such as new contracts and/or partnerships, etc

Qualifications – Internal

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of sales, solution sales, partner development experience or 3 years of sales leadership/management with responsibility for monthly & quarterly sales targets
  • Associates Degree


Other Required Qualifications

  • Exemplary written and oral communications skills, as well as outstanding platform speaking and presentation ability
  • Outstanding organizational skills including strategic planning, goals setting, and execution
  • Strong knowledge of CDW’s position and ability to execute solution focused programs effectively


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with CDW SPS pipeline management and forecast delivery tools
