The Secuirty Engineering Supervisor provides supervision to Engineering Team Staff Members in support of CDW Managed Services strategies and objectives.  The Security Engineering Supervisor is responsible for supporting the development and advancement of Security services, driving profitability for the team, responsibility for the ownership of PCI and SOC2 compliance and a high customer expereince.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Manage team of Engineering Professionals (Team) in multiple locations (US and abroad)
  • Train, develop and mentor team in accordance with CDW’s Managed Services objectives
  • Assess, compile, review and present team performance metrics to managers and other stakeholders on a scheduled basis
  • Assess need and hire coworkers to ensure team capacity matches the needs of the business
  • Performance manage team to CDW’s standards
  • Determine salary and other compensation targets and payouts for team 
  • Responsible for ensuring the Security team meets or exceeds the Managed Services profitiability goals
  • Develop and maintain the training processes and procedures for the technologies assigned 
  • Review current processes, identify and implement improvements as necessary 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the collaboration of strategic and tactical plans for the current and future development of the technologies assigned to their team
  • Support CDW’s Research and Development and Presales teams through sales enablement to ensure we are driving additional revenue through Managed Services Security
  • Collaborate with and support CDW’s Research and Development team on the development of new technolgies and services that would benefit our customers
  • Participate in Ambassador calls and provide update/status/communication to stakeholders    
  • Provide input into the strategic direction of the Managed Services Engineering Team 
  • Apply strategies into actionable team directives in alignment with Managed Services goals 
  • Provide strategic and tactical solutions to technological issues confronted by their team
  • Work with internal and external customers as to the utilization of resources
  • Limited travel as necessary for individual and team functions
  • Point of escalation for customers and internal teams in regards to Managed Security services/team 
  • Oversee strategic customer projects and support activities
  • Control ownership for CDW’s Managed Services PCI and SOC2 Compliance (File integrity monitoring and vulnerability awareness/notificaiton)
  • Accountable for Access Management day to day operations and escalation
     

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent experience required 
  • 10 years of customer facing experience in technically relevant area providing hands on support for said technology

  • History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • Proven ability to proactively collaborate and build relationships, take initiative and creatively problem solve
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience
  • Ability to plan, organize, and drive for results while meeting deadlines and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business
  • Applicant should demonstrate solid attention to detail and a penchant for accuracy
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to other CDW locations or customer sites
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information. 
  • Ability to apply common sense in performing job. 
  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, multi-task, organize and prioritize. Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines. 
  • Understanding of financial acumen in relation to profitability and capacity management
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with cross functional teams
  • History of successfully mentoring and performance management teams
  • Understanding of PCI and SOC2 compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous management experience
  • Previous experience in a large managed services environment
