Focal-Point, a CDW company, is looking for a highly experienced Senior Web Developer to expand the functionality of our Penetration Testing team's tooling and service offerings. The best candidate for this role will have extensive professional experience in adding enhancements and bug fixes to existing Python/Django applications, as well as writing applications from the ground up.

This will be a solitary, independent role with only a single, Senior Developer that's embedded into the penetration testing team. The candidate should be very comfortable with working independently with minimal oversight and have hands-on experience with the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.

The Types of Projects You’ll Be Working On:

• Add a client-facing front-end to existing systems for client interaction, tracking projects, and issues / ticket tracking.

• Create a client-facing portal and integrate data from other penetration testing tools for clients to track tickets related to security engagements as it's made available
• Develop penetration testing tools for use by the penetration testing team

Responsibilities

• Regularly work with Focal-Point's penetration testing team and leadership to obtain an understanding of how internal tooling works.
• Obtain an understanding of how the penetration testing business works
• Answer questions from penetration testers and leadership about enhancements and bug fixes to applications
• Review enhancement requests and bug fix requests from penetration testers and clients
• Implement enhancements to team tools and other Focal Point applications
• Organize the current software story backlog and maintain it
• Resolve bug fixes that exist for Alice in the team's backlog
• Provide regular status updates on story progress at team meetings and one-on-one meetings with leadership
• Provide application support to team members and clients related to web application development releases during standard work hours (This is NOT 24/7, on-call support)

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior web developer role in a professional capacity
• Extensive experience working with Python and Django
• A strong understanding of how object-oriented programming works
• Experience with and understanding of model, view, controller (MVC) principles and architecture
• Experience with front-end and back-end development, databases and continuous integration/continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Experience in delivering bug fixes and enhancements to web applications
• Possesses an understanding of git, and has experience using it in a web development role
• Can work entirely independently with little oversight to meet deadlines (self-managing)
• Regularly communicates with the team and provides demos of code changes to the team and leadership

Ideal Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or Information Systems with 5+ years of professional experience OR BS/BA with 6+ years’ work experience
• Possesses a personal portfolio of code projects or open-source contributions
• Experience with existing penetration testing tools and attacks
• Extensive experience with JavaScript, jQuery and other front-end frameworks
• Extensive experience working with databases (SQLite, PostgreSQL, SQL etc.)
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) from a web/software development perspective
• Advanced understanding of git (branches, merging, tagging, stashing, etc.)
• Strong familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces (CLIs)

Travel and Location:

• Ability to travel up to 10%
