Key Areas of Responsibility
- Provide client consulting pertaining to network engineering (hardware and software), providing guidance on best practices, practical application, and implementation.
- Function in various client environments in a vendor-agnostic capacity. Technologies encountered will include, but are not limited to:
- Cisco / Meraki / Juniper Route + Switch
- Cisco / Meraki / Juniper / Palo Alto / FortiGate Firewalls
- F5 Load Balancers
- SilverPeak WAN Accelerators
- Cisco / Meraki / Aruba Wireless
- Cisco VoIP (Call Manager, Unity, IM & Presence, UCCX, WebEx)
- Solarwinds Orion
- Microsoft Azure
- VMware ESXi & Cisco UCS
- Manage existing LAN and WAN deployments, including:
- Monitoring and reporting
- Lifecycle management
- Standard change requests to support business function
- Identification and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues
- Communication and engagement with customer network-owners
- Design, plan, and execute implementation of new infrastructure and updates to existing deployments.
- Participate in various client projects to enhance network availability and capability.
- Identify and communicate potential opportunities for cross-selling to the sales team.
- Implement solutions and manage time and expenses to meet or exceed customer expectations as set forth in each project’s Statement of Work.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent certification / degree in a related technical field
- Minimum of three years’ experience delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation and support of network solutions
- Minimum of one years’ experience in programming / scripting, Python preferred

- Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with client stakeholders and team members
- Ability to maintain and create technical documentation for enterprise-level customers
- Self-motivated to develop new skills and seek increased responsibilities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to demonstrate solid attention to detail and a penchant for accuracy
- History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
- Physically able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds of equipment. The team lift system must be utilized for loads weighing more than 50 pounds
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% or as needed to other CDW locations or client sites
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Consulting experience preferred
- Previous hands-on experience with both Cisco and Juniper technologies
- CCNA, CCNP, or industry-equivalent certification preferred
- Knowledge of VoIP technologies preferred
