Position Summary:

  • The Solutions Architect WebSphere - Portal/Social position exists to provide technical leadership to the Portal/Social Solution Services Program, while serving as a technical resource to Sirius sales staff and account managers in support of clients. This position handles engagements requiring knowledge of multiple application server environments involving architectural design of client applications and technical sales support.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides solution architecture design and implementation as well as solution development and delivery of WebSphere Portal, Web Content Manager and Connections across a variety of platforms, including but not limited to Windows and Linux
  • Executes performance testing and tuning of delivered solutions using tools such as LoadRunner, troubleshoot challenges and identify and implement remediation approaches
  • Provides lead support to field sales for Software and Services opportunities in the area of WebSphere Portal, Web Content Management and Connections
  • Collaborates with client (Line of Business, IT) and Sirius team to identify high level business requirements and map to solution capabilities
  • Works with Sirius development team to create work effort estimates to support Statement of Work creation, and present/effectively communicate proposals to client

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least seven (7) years of work experience in a Developer, Senior Developer, Solution Architect or similar role to including IBM WebSphere Portal and Web Content Management version 7.0 or later and IBM Connections version 4.0 or later

Other Position Requirements:

  • In addition to the Basic Qualifications listed above, the following Other Position Requirements are required:
  • Experience working with customers to clarify WebSphere Portal/Social needs and requirements and build a solution vision
  • Experience participating in the design and development of WebSphere Portal/Social based solutions
  • Experience with server-side Java/J2EE and web-based application development
  • Experience with WebSphere Portal v6 or higher design and development
  • Experience with RAD, Web Experience Factory, or Eclipse IDE
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, dojo, or similar
  • Experience with D82, SOL Server, Oracle, or other enterprise-class RDBMS
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mobile platforms such as IBM Worklight
  • Essential Functions:
  • The position exists to provide consulting solutions to customers and as such requires the ability to travel to and from customer sites and interact with customers on an ongoing and regular basis.
  • Experience with D82, SOL Server, Oracle, or other enterprise-class RDBMS
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills
