Upon completion of the program, you will advance into a site reliability engineering role on CDW’s Managed Services team where you will accelerate your career.

What you’ll be doing:

Participate in a best-in-class training program while gaining valuable on-the-job skills. As an Associate Consulting Engineer (ACE), you will be actively involved in technical solving opportunities, and you’ll be assigned to meaningful projects that align to your skill set. Learn from top technology professionals as well as pursue certifications that are incorporated into the program.

  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of systems, from inception and design, deployment, operation and refinement
  • Support systems before they go live through activities such as design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews
  • Maintain systems once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation; evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
  • Develop software following industry best practices
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
  • Collaborate with coworkers as a member of an Agile (Scrum) team
  • Develop reliable troubleshooting documentation and verify solutions have appropriate instructions and knowledge base articles

Minimum Qualifications

  • Authorized to work for CDW in the United States; immigration sponsorship (H-1B, TN, etc.) is not currently available for this position
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or related discipline plus 1 year of relevant practical experience in systems administration (Linux), or software development
    • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or related discipline plus 2 years of relevant practical experience in systems administration (Linux), or software development
    • 3 years relevant practical experience in systems administration (Linux), or software development
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (can vary by location)
  • Ability to work weekends and/or after hours as part of a 24x7 on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year or equivalent experience configuring or supporting Kubernetes
  • At least 1 year or equivalent experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • At least 1 year or equivalent experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (such as Ansible and Terraform)
  • Experience in Agile software development
  • Experience in ITIL and IT Service Management
