From our origins 38 years ago to today, CDW coworkers have remained steadfast in their efforts to support communities where we live and work. Through our Social Impact work, we are empowering our communities to reach their unlimited potential. As a company, we are committed to addressing digital equity by providing access to technology, supporting education, and building our workforce so that it reflects the world we live in. For our coworkers, we support volunteerism, serving on nonprofit boards, participating in philanthropic efforts, and utilizing their skills to make an impact.
As part of this work, CDW is excited to celebrate Empower Month – a month dedicated to empowering coworkers globally in their giving, with opportunities to engage with local communities on a deeper level. Our coworkers are passionate about a variety of causes, and we encourage them to support the charitable organizations that matter most to them.
“Our goal is to make engaging in our communities easy, accessible, and equitable for all our coworkers,”
“Our goal is to make engaging in our communities easy, accessible, and equitable for all our coworkers,” says Taylor Amerman, Senior Manager, Global Social Impact.
While CDW encourages coworker giving year-round, Empower Month provides an opportunity for our coworkers to easily volunteer, participate in a virtual Be the Change 5K, and double their impact with a special 2:1 matching gift benefit during the month of October.
We asked a few coworkers why they give and how CDW has encouraged them to feel empowered in their communities.
Melanie Britto (she/her) | Manager, Organizational Capability
CDW has a culture of empowerment and authenticity that lets each of us pursue our passions both at work and outside of work. Giving back is part of my own value system and whether it’s through a dollar match, a volunteer opportunity or by being part of one of our amazing BRGs, I am actively encouraged to support the causes I believe in and give back in a way that's meaningful to me.
Yuki Saito (he/him) | Account Manager
CDW has encouraged us to give back by providing the resources, support, and network that allows us to organize volunteer events while also leveraging our greatest strength – our people and culture!
Terri Deist (she/her) | Sr. Customer Experience Engineer
I have always been a super empathetic person and along with that have always had a strong instinct to help people. Giving is part of my DNA, serving others makes me a better, happier person.
Lucy Ager (she/her) | Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Partner
Giving back allows me to familiarize myself with the communities around me and connect to people and ideas that positively impacts my perspective in life. Also, positively impacting others and the society around them is always the most important, volunteering time often allows me to develop transferable skills to enhance my personal life and career. We should always recognize our privilege and offer the help we can to others.
Jack Trembly (he/him) | Account Manager
I have been pretty blessed throughout my life, some people unfortunately have not. I believe that it is my responsibility to help those who have had a tough journey or who are less fortunate than myself.
We are continually inspired by the power of partnerships and collective impact to create sustainable and equitable change. We invite you to learn more about our work and join us in making a difference in the world we live and share.
