Celebrating National Engineers Week 2023

February 20, 2023  |   Career

Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, EWeek (February 19-25, 2023) is dedicated to celebrating how engineers make a difference and ensuring a well-educated and diverse future engineering workforce.

This year, we’re celebrating EWeek with some of the amazing tech visionaries at CDW. We asked some of our engineering professionals about our industry-leading Associate Consulting Engineer (ACE) program and the advice they’d give to future engineers.

Happy National Engineers Week (EWeek)!

Michael

(he/him), Associate Consulting Engineer - Microsoft Security
One thing I love about being an Associate Consulting Engineer is the freedom that the program offers. There might be a day where I need to dedicate time to researching a particular topic and improving my skills in that subject matter while there might be another day where I need to dedicate my time to helping out a customer with an issue they ran into. I have the ability to work at my own pace and prioritize what is important to myself, my colleagues, and my customers.

Jarrod

(he/him), Associate Consulting Engineer - Google Cloud
The thing that I love most about being an Associate Consulting Engineer is just the sheer amount of technology and knowledge that we get to obtain every day and the folks that we get to work with as well. There's a never-ending front of knowledge that comes from some of these folks. You might be in one track and work with a completely different track of ACEs and building those relationships and learning those new things is just far and above anything else that I've ever done in my career, whether it be IT or otherwise.

Luc

(he/him), Associate Consulting Engineer - ServiceNow Solutions
The one word that I would use to describe #LifeAtCDW is supportive. Anytime I've had a question as an Associate Consulting Engineer, someone was there to answer it, and that has helped me with my growth and it has removed the fear of asking what someone might call a dumb question. And that's a really great thing when you are just learning and starting your journey as an ACE in whatever technology area that you're in.

At CDW, we’re made of lifelong learners who want to make a real-world difference. As an Associate Consulting Engineer, you’ll work on impactful projects and collaborate with a close-knit community of engineers to bring value to our customers every day.

Our innovative program features industry-leading certifications, structured training and professional mentorships to help aspiring engineers develop into tech professionals. We offer access to the best resources in the industry so you can take your career to new heights.
