Coworkers Give Back

November 28, 2023  |   Lifeatcdw

CDW makes technology work so people can do great things. When it comes to the impact we have on our communities, we know greatness happens when everyone has equitable opportunities.

We lead with the CDW Way and our values of trust, connection, commitment; we continue to seek ways to create sustainable and equitable change in the world by engaging our coworkers, empowering our communities, and elevating our impact. Committed to making a lasting, meaningful difference through our global Social Impact program, CDW coworkers have access to resources to better the communities we live and work in.

With the holidays around the corner, we're thrilled to share stories from a few of our coworkers who exemplify the season's spirit by giving back to their communities. Discover the inspiring journey of these individuals and the positive impact they've made.

Ritu Dhaliwal
Team Lead, Digital Workspace Solutions at CDW

Ritu is a dedicated volunteer to organizations like Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, Compass Food Bank, Dress for Success, crafting care packages for Syrian Refugees, Beach Cleanup, Seva Food Bank, Out of the Cold, and many more. Her volunteerism was shaped by her family’s assistance of immigrants in their settlement process, as well as active engagement with their local Sikh temple to provide meals to those in need. These experiences fueled her desire to contribute her time and energy, bring fresh perspectives and connect with diverse communities.

“Having the opportunity to offer access to essential resources, promoting women’s empowerment, and offering support to youth and children truly motivates me. There’s nothing more fulfilling to me than volunteering.”

Alex Miles
Sales Director at CDW
Alex began working with Empower Children’s Education Foundation (ECEF) in 2017, helping impoverished and marginalized children in Central and Southeast Asia to obtain access to proper and quality education. Traveling annually to Thailand and Myanmar (and Pakistan in 2024) , he helps to construct schools, fund resources like uniforms, books, learning materials, meals for students and consistent development training for school leaders.

“I believe in the change taking place by preparing the youth for an educated, expanded future, and plan to maintain visits to Empower sites every year.”

Kerry Campbell
Integrated Service Operations Manager at CDW

Kerry manages CDW UK’s ITS volunteering programme engaging hundreds of coworkers each year on volunteering and fundraising. In the past two years alone, ITS has clocked 1,300+ volunteer hours and plan to continue to bring coworkers together expanding their events in 2024.

“Volunteering days in ITS have no limits. We have cooked, planted, painted, gardened, decorated and jumped out of planes. It’s amazing that a small group of people can impact a charity in the most magnificent ways.”

Thank you to all of you, our coworkers, for your commitment to empowering our communities.
