Networking. CDW provides endless opportunities for you to be in spaces with so many different people from all sides of the company. There are so many events such as speed networking or office days that allow you to meet others and bring them into your network. Make it meaningful, try to learn something new in each conversation you have.
"Never be afraid to walk up to a peer, or coworker and say hello."
– Brianna Tripp, DevOps Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at CDW
I would say be prepared, do research on the role you are applying for, see what qualifies you for the role, and what does not. This gives you a chance to improve your knowledge on subjects you may be unsure about before the interview. Another tip would be to make the interview conversational, ask questions, and take time to process any feedback.
Simply astounding. Since my internship at CDW, I have felt that this is a company that puts people first. From my experience, the people here are always helpful, kind, and understanding. CDW enforces a culture where all people have a space to be themselves, as well as feel heard. In such a short amount of time I have found such insightful mentors within the organization that truly care about my professional growth development. The team that I am a part of makes me feel proud to be working at CDW, their collective knowledge and readiness to share in such an authentic and lucid way, reassures me that I am in the right place.
My favorite memory would be the end of the summer celebration we had. It was so nice to be able to thank our internship leaders one last time, as well as celebrate the summer with them.
I start my day by writing down tasks that I want to complete and highlighting the top three that I really want to close out by the end of the day. Working in technology can feel like there are a million things going on at once, so this helps me to stay focused. In the afternoon I join a 'stand-up' with my team where we go over any tickets or incidents assigned, as well as individual projects or tasks. I love working as a DevOps Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) because there is no limitation on what you can learn or implement in your work. I really think of it as the ultimate tech role, because there are so many opportunities to explore within it.
