On November 11, we observe Veterans Day in the US and Remembrance Day in the UK and Canada to honor those who have served their countries. It’s a day for us to express our respect and gratitude for veterans and remember fallen service members.
CDW proudly supports veterans, active military and their families in the community as well as the workplace. We provide rewarding career opportunities for veterans that utilize their valuable experience and unique attributes. Meet a few of our veteran coworkers below.

What does Remembrance Day mean to you?
Remembrance Day/Veterans Day means that exactly. Remember those who gave up their lives for their country, fought to protect our rights and freedom. Every year, I spend Remembrance Day/Veterans Day with my dad. We go to our Local Legion which is right beside where my dad lives and watch the ceremonies and then share a beer together.
What are military core values that you bring to work-life?
My core values will always be team, unit and honor. All the years I coached both my boys in hockey and baseball, every job I had, team/unit has always been the most important aspect for success. CDW has demonstrated these two main core values in so many ways, that is why I am so proud to be part of this amazing organization and a part of the Military Allies Resources Council Business Resource Group (MARC BRG) family.

What does Remembrance Day mean to you?
It is a time to reflect, remember and thank those that served, their families and the entire Armed Forces community. It is a time to remember those whose life has been adjusted by services on all sides of conflict both mentally and physically.
What are military core values that you bring to work-life?
Integrity, loyalty, discipline and respect for others.
What advice do you have for someone transitioning from a military to civilian career?
Military service is about what you have accomplished in the past. Transition is a focused effort onto taking your accomplishments making them reference points for the things you can do in the future. Transition is a demonstration of not who you are, but who you can be.

Current role at CDW: Zscaler Brand Manager | Chicago, IL
Role in the military: Lieutenant, Executive Officer | Transportation Corps | Army National Guard
What does Veterans Day mean to you?
Veterans Day is time to remember our bravest Americans. Those who put the ideals of liberty and equality over their personal interests and safety. My military career was modest, and I am beyond honored to have worn the uniform along with those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
What are military core values that you bring to work-life?
Integrity is huge in the military, doing the right thing when no one is watching. I’ve brought this to my current role, always being straightforward with results, motivations and intentions even if it may breed a difficult business conversation or decision.
What advice do you have for someone transitioning from a military to civilian career?
I was a reservist, so my military and civilian career were almost always happening in tandem outside of short periods on Active Duty. My advice would be to take note of the organizational challenges faced in the military and look out for similar challenges at work. The civilian work world offers much greater flexibility and room for change than the military.
CDW is proud to hire and develop service members like Ryan, Clarissa, Nick and Tim.
