Meet Aletha Noonan. You might find her on the weekends and evenings hosting theme parties, spearheading fundraisers or curating a menu for a family of four, but by day, she’s CDW’s Senior Vice President of Product & Partner Management.
Her love for hosting events is deeply rooted from when she was younger. Her mother, Janet, had an annual Christmas party where she would surprise Aletha and her neighborhood friends with a visit from Santa. Her mom often made small moments a big deal through experiences and celebrations, a tradition Aletha has carried on throughout her life. In high school, Aletha became class officer and would plan sock hops and host fundraisers with her fellow students – creating these experiences continued to be a love of Aletha’s. This is where the practice of “work hard, play hard” began.
In 1993, Aletha started her career in tech working for a small company. It was there that she learned about CDW’s successful training program. She began her CDW career in 1994 and soon after was on the first outbound sales team. She and her outbound peers made proactive calls on inactive CDW customers, which was the beginning of CDW’s evolution from a primarily inbound sales team. She was promoted to sales management in 1996 and quickly rose through the ranks and grew her career in parallel with CDW’s strong growth trajectory, moving from Sales Manager to Senior Manager to Sales Director all the while contributing to CDW’s sales strategy and structure.
In 2004, Aletha assumed the role of Director of Sales Operations. In this role, Aletha partnered with other senior sales leaders on key sales initiatives and priorities, including designing CDW’s first job-sharing program for sales. One year later, Aletha decided to leave CDW to raise her two children, Lexi & Sophia.
After five years away from the corporate world, Aletha returned to the workforce as a National Partner Sales Executive at Microsoft where she was a team lead responsible for the global CDW partnership. Her knowledge of and connections with CDW contributed to the partnership’s success. It was here that she advanced her knowledge of partnerships with CDW, learning from the “eyes of the partner” what it’s like to partner with CDW.
The pull back to CDW was strong, and in 2013, Aletha returned as the Vice President of Higher Education Sales for CDW●G, enhancing her experience with the government sector and vertical go-to-market strategies. After three years of leading the Higher Education sales segment, Aletha transitioned to leading our Corporate Central region, which provided her the opportunity to partner even closer with CDW’s solution architects and engineering coworkers while leading the segment with the most concentrated success selling and delivering professional services.
While sales was Aletha’s first home at CDW, it was her next move that would ultimately bring all her experiences together. In July 2020, Aletha was promoted to Senior Vice President of Product and Partner Management for CDW. In this role, she is responsible for managing CDW’s relationship with our community of industry-leading technology partners.
“I am most excited about being in the room where it happens,” Aletha says. “My new role and team is all about bringing together the needs of our customers with the possibilities of our partners and the service and execution through our coworkers. The variety of customers and segments I’ve worked with and experience with partners as a sales leader and partner executive have prepared me for the role I am in today.”
“Seeing the photo of my preschool graduation reminded me of how important it is to strive for an environment where young people know that the world and the future offer endless possibilities for young girls and all children regardless of their color, religion, zip code or family name,” Aletha says. “I’ve had the remarkable fortune of having people believe in me, support me, encourage me and love me for who I am. I hope to inspire and encourage others to have big dreams and follow them. One thing remains core to who I am: I am committed to doing good and being good."
