My Career Journey with Pradeep Anbudaiyan

My journey so far... Traversing the globe with CDW, Pradeep Anbudaiyan (he/him), Director, Corporate Sales & Sales Academy in London, shares his story on his fantastic career. 

KICKING OFF PRADEEP'S CAREER

Thinking back on the start of my career, I loved the social aspect and variety in meeting a wide range of people working as a telemarketer during university.  I remember being really good at building relationships, so this led me to apply for the Sales Academy in 2001 for CDW US. The fact it was a tech company that was so people-driven is what appealed to me the most, as I love to dive into new challenges.  

After 15 successful years in various sales and leadership roles, I moved over to the UK in 2016 and continued my development into the UK sales leadership team. Over the past 6 years, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing a role in the success of my teams, our vendor partners, and our customers. Some of the biggest and rewarding projects since migrating over have been our ongoing segmentation our business for future growth and the launch of the Sales Academy in the UK.  

SELLING THE CDW DREAM

Having built a sales career over 20 years through the academy myself, I now have the opportunity to be at the early stages of someone else’s long-term future at CDW, watching them develop into the future life blood of the organization. CDW is full of support networks, where everyone is genuinely invested in their peers. Because of this, we have introduced mentorship to the Sales Academy, as they will gain value from informal conversation and formal guidance.  

GLOBE-TROTTING ROLE

For how much the company has grown over the years, some may doubt an organization this large could keep their culture. However, it just felt right from the beginning; 21 years is a testament to how they can push you to develop in a company, moving to different roles, even countries in my case! It is a comfortable, inclusive, trust-worthy environment, where the support structure is consistent.   

CDW is a massive part of my life. It has given me the flexibility to travel globally, all whilst engaging with international customers and co-workers. This fits in with my personal interests and hobbies, as I love to travel (especially eating my way through Europe!) and experiencing new cultures.   

What advice would you give to someone wanting to apply to CDW UK?

Always work for an organization that fits your values and resonates with you. Seek out the type of people you want to work with who are aligned to what you want to accomplish in your career.
