What a year it has been! In a complex environment with unpredictable changes, events and news, CDW saw success throughout 2021. From our record sales to our engagement with coworkers, customers and partners, we were unstoppable. In no specific order, here are a few major accomplishments that we are proud to celebrate this year.
In Q3 2021, CDW delivered record Net sales of $5.3 billion, as a result of continued execution on our three key drivers: our balanced portfolio of customer end markets, the breadth of our product and solutions portfolio and our ongoing execution against our three-part strategy, which is focused on taking share and investing in the solutions and capabilities our customers need and want.
CDW’s Business Resource Groups (BRGs) are a powerful force driving our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts. Our BRGs provide professional development, informal mentoring, networking opportunities and a forum for coworkers to celebrate their affinity area. Over the past year, our BRGs held 140 events and grew membership 20%, despite the challenges of working remotely and hosting events virtually most of that time. Our Canada team launched their UNITE BRG which fosters connections and mentorships and brings together coworkers from various roles and walks of life. And our UK team continued to build their BRGs including: PRIDE+, Black Coworker Network (BCN) and Disability Support Network (DSN).
In May, our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team launched a redesigned DEI website to showcase the innovative things we are doing to evolve our DEI strategy to ensure coworkers feel seen, heard and valued.
We further expanded our capabilities, customer reach and the CDW family with three acquisitions:
Amplified IT, a leading education-focused consultancy that brings a blend of technical skills and knowledge to the K12 and Higher Education markets.
Focal Point Data Risk, a leading provider of cybersecurity services with customers across a diverse set of industries.
Sirius Computer Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of secure, mission-critical technology-based solutions.
And we continued to grow our team hiring across Sales, Integrated Technology Solutions, Technology and more.
We continued to be named a great place to work for our culture, diversity and business results. In 2021, we were recognized by Forbes – World’s Best Employers, Fairygodboss – Best Companies for Women, IDG's Insider Pro and Computerworld – Best Places to Work in IT, Disability:IN Disability Equality Index – Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion, U.S. Veterans Magazine – Best of the Best Top Veteran-Friendly Companies, and a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index. And we ranked number 161 on the Fortune 500 list. Just to name a few…
Our incredible partners support and empower us to make technology work so our customers can achieve great things. During our annual Partner Summit earlier this year, we were honored to name our Partner of the Year recipients. The commitment and relationships we have with our partner community helps us provide best-in-class solutions to our customers, and we are incredibly grateful for the ways we will continue to work together for our customers and empower one another.
While the majority of our workforce continued to work remotely throughout 2021, we stayed connected with each other through virtual gatherings, happy hours, and when we could, safely reunited in person. Our talented coworkers work together to deeply understand our customers’ technology challenges and flawlessly deliver compelling solutions that help them achieve their missions. And as a thank you for all the work, our President & CEO Chris Leahy sent a special unstoppable vest and tumbler to all CDW coworkers globally.
We've been looking forward to welcoming coworkers to our new Chicago and London offices that opened earlier this year. We reimagined and adapted our office spaces for the new way of working and incorporated more collaborative meeting rooms. We believe in the power of being onsite together, and our future of working model will be hybrid where the majority of roles will be a mix of in-office and remote.
CDW launched an enhanced environmental, social and governance (ESG) website and new ESG fact sheet, as part of our commitment to our ongoing ESG journey. We also launched our new Global Social Impact strategy focused on digital equity. We are committed to empowering learners to reach their unlimited potential through technology and helping build a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workforce in the technology industry. Check out one way that we are executing this work in our latest CDW, Intel and Chance the Rapper partnership.
From preparing and serving meals to packing backpacks with school supplies to hosting toy drives and more, our coworkers gave back to their communities in unique and meaningful ways throughout the year.
CDW’s strategy brings a relentless focus on what our customers need and want. In 2021, we continued to keep the customer at the center of everything we do to meet their needs. Check out CDW’s Research Hub to read customer case studies and thought leadership pieces across a variety of topics and industries, all of which demonstrates the depth and breadth of CDW’s expertise.
We are proud of all that we accomplished together in 2021 and look forward to our continued and collaborative success in 2022. Are you ready for more change, growth and excitement in 2022? Join our team.
